About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Regional Business Manager (RBM) for the Critical Care division of a reputed pharmaceutical company, based in Chennai. The role involves leading and managing a team of medical representatives, driving business development, implementing field strategies, and ensuring compliance and governance across the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development: Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the Critical Care product portfolio across the territory.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of medical representatives, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Field Coaching: Conduct regular field visits to coach team members on product detailing, customer engagement, and sales techniques.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key intensivists, emergency care specialists, neurologists, hepatologists, and institutional buyers.
- Strategy Implementation: Execute field-level sales and marketing strategies as defined by the business head, adapting them to local market dynamics.
- Business Analysis & Reporting: Analyze territory-level business performance, prepare detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Territory & Distribution Management: Manage territory mapping, resource allocation, and distribution network to ensure optimal market coverage.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards across all field operations.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
- Budget & Expense Management: Manage territory-level budgets, control field expenses, and ensure cost-effective deployment of resources.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc or B.Pharm from a recognized institution (preferably B.Pharm). D.Pharm candidates will also be considered.
- Proven experience in Critical Care, Vaccine, Liver Transplant, Injectable Products, Neuro Therapy, or Emergency Care pharmaceutical sales.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales with at least 2 years in a team management or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of critical care therapeutics, hospital buying processes, and institutional procurement cycles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a territory independently and lead a team to achieve business targets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with intensivists, emergency care specialists, neurologists, or hepatologists in the Chennai region.
- Experience managing teams of 8–15 medical representatives across a territory.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing or Healthcare Management would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of government and private hospital tendering processes in Tamil Nadu.
