About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Engineer — Civil to join our client's Construction & Site Engineering team. In this role, you will support the successful execution of construction projects through consistent on-site presence, quality assurance operations, and cross-functional coordination. This position provides direct exposure to operations within the Kolkata real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to review project plans and specifications.
- Perform quality assurance checks on materials and workmanship to uphold project integrity and standards.
- Collect, collate, and analyze data related to site operations to inform project decisions and field improvements.
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project expenses to maintain budget compliance.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
- Maintain complete documentation of site activities, including daily progress reports and incident logs.
- Assist in resolving on-site challenges and provide technical support to team members as required.
- Participate in team meetings to report on project progress, field challenges, and operational adjustments.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field (B.Tech freshers are also eligible).
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, or site management.
- Clear understanding of construction processes and site safety regulations.
- Professional communication skills for effective coordination with diverse site teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multi-task deployments in site environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with foundational project management software and reporting tools.
- Experience with operational quality assurance and control processes in construction.
- Basic knowledge of cost estimation and tracking within structural building projects.
- Previous deployment experience on residential or commercial projects in the Kolkata area.
