About the Role
On behalf of a prominent, large diversified conglomerate, we are seeking a highly accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function for their Hotel Construction Division. This is a C-suite leadership position requiring a seasoned financial leader with strong operational acumen, deep expertise in capital-intensive project finance, and the ability to drive financial strategy across large-scale hospitality infrastructure projects.
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations including project funding, cost management, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, compliance, and financial reporting. The role demands a hands-on leader who can work closely with project teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure the financial health and growth of the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete finance function for the Hotel Construction Division, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the conglomerate's overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee project finance, including structuring and managing debt, equity, and hybrid funding for large-scale hotel construction projects.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across all construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Manage treasury operations, cash flow planning, working capital, and banking relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and taxation requirements including GST, income tax, and transfer pricing.
- Oversee financial due diligence for new projects, joint ventures, and potential acquisitions.
- Present financial insights, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to the Board and senior leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance team across project sites and corporate offices.
- Collaborate with operations, legal, and project management teams to ensure integrated financial oversight.
- Establish robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and audit processes for the division.
- Monitor and manage financial risks including currency, interest rate, and commodity price exposures.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI – Mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in finance leadership roles.
- Current designation at minimum Assistant General Manager (AGM) level or equivalent.
- Strong track record in project finance, corporate finance, or financial management within capital-intensive industries.
- Deep understanding of financial modelling, valuation, and capital structure management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality infrastructure, hotel construction, or large-scale commercial real estate projects.
- MBA in Finance or equivalent post-graduate qualification.
- Experience with multi-currency transactions and international financing structures.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry financial benchmarks, BOT/PPP project structures.
- Track record of managing finance for projects exceeding ?500 crore.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Strong command over MS Excel, financial modelling, and data analytics.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation (GST, Income Tax), accounting standards (Ind AS), and corporate governance.
- Experience with project management and MIS reporting frameworks.
