This open-ended question is your chance to frame your narrative. Most candidates either ramble or give a generic answer. Here's how to structure a compelling 90-second pitch.
Past: Where you started and what you learned. "I began as an MR in West Bengal, covering chronic therapies in cardiology, where I built strong doctor relationships."
Present: What you're doing now and your key achievement. "Currently, I manage a team of 12 MRs across East India, and we achieved 115% of annual target last year."
Future: Why this role is the right next step. "I'm looking to bring my field leadership experience to a growing organization where I can contribute to national expansion."
Connect every part of your answer back to the role you're interviewing for. If it's a sales leadership position, emphasize team management and numbers. If it's a specialist role, highlight therapy expertise.
Rehearse until it sounds natural, not scripted. The goal is confidence, not perfection. Record yourself and refine until the timing feels right.
